It requires too much preparation and effort for my schedule and enthusiasm levels. Like many MMOs, EVE Online seems to have shipped a few months too early. The game is loaded with bugs, server issues and some customer service nightmares. I know that the dev team is currently working to resolve them. In fact, a number of serious issues that existed when I started playing have since been fixed. As of this writing, though, players should be aware that they will probably face quite a few technical issues.

One of the most serious is a nasty crash bug that causes player’s characters to get “stuck” during transitions. This might cause the character to disappear into the electronic ether, along with all the hard work that went into it (although this hasn’t happened yet). Currently there is no guarantee that CCP will actually be able to rescue them, so caveat emptor. There are also features that were promised that are not yet implemented. These include “Boosters” (basically drugs) that were to make up a large portion of the game’s illicit economy and the in-game web browser that should let you look at player corporation Web siteseve online trialhttp://eveonlinetrial.blogspot.mx/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4654579473623989383.post-49575079467527988852012-11-09T19:06:49.199+01:002012-11-09T19:06:49.199+01:00Yep! Being able to close or open them on a whim by the holding alliance is to over powered, but this kind of system implies that even if you don't like it, the gate can become active and give access to your systems.
The biggest issue would be, as you point out, the jumpbridges.
Requiring the hold ally to maintain all gates in a constellation to in order to have JBs sounds a bit too mucho work, but it could serve to deter large jumpbridge networks and embiggen nullsec...
I really think CCP should consider something like this to iterate upon nullsec sov system.Crassus Detlatorhttp://twitter.com/#!/crassusdetlatornoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4654579473623989383.post-11190787987156784382012-06-23T20:23:25.122+02:002012-06-23T20:23:25.122+02:00Interesting! While big ships might get problems small ships should always work. I think a connection between two gates should be influenced by the state of maintenance of both sides, but symmetrically. Also rate of deterioration might be influenced by the load that is placed on the gate by traffic. You might want to modify dscan (maybe with modules) to balance the partial loss of local. Dscan resolution based on ship signature, distance and collimation would be interesting.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4654579473623989383.post-76383027850878104002012-06-23T16:15:36.131+02:002012-06-23T16:15:36.131+02:00It would make null more interesting if it could po...It would make null more interesting if it could potentially become a closed system (kinda like wormhole space). They could easily have over a million if they would stop pandering to a tiny fraction of the playerbase who are useless a-holes at best. Accessibility is the way of the future in MMOs, and the first game that is "Eve without griefing" will absolutely destroy it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4654579473623989383.post-74644269296560925382012-03-15T19:59:52.354+01:002012-03-15T19:59:52.354+01:00I was FC for this fight.
