I have been in Eve for over a year now; this post was created almost a year ago!

I have, indeed, found out that joining a corp was the best thing to do. I have been a member of Traders' Academy Corporation, but currently I belong in Alien Ship Builders. Both are n00b friendly corps and I have learned a lot in the mean time.

I live mostly in Verge Vendor these days, I'll keep my eyes open for 'Happy San' :)Maria Wingtipshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10078729151826320903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4654579473623989383.post-10702511844955303562009-05-25T16:22:45.449+02:002009-05-25T16:22:45.449+02:00I'm sure you've realised that EVE is similar to SL...I'm sure you've realised that EVE is similar to SL in one way: It's very very easy to lose yourself. In both games (and yes, I consider SL a game) you can create a character/avatar without knowing what to expect, and then float around with no clear goals and nothing in particular to do. This leaves you with a sense of dissatisfaction, particularly if in the case of EVE you are paying for it.

As I'm sure you've also realised, EVE is complicated. Coming from SL (as opposed to WoW or other similar things) I imagine you are much more willing to accept help from others, and learn from more experienced players. To this end I would suggest joining a corporation as soon as possible. You do not need to know where you want your character to be in 6 months, you do not need to know exactly what you want to do - having a base of experienced players to learn from, and other inexperienced players to learn _with_ is important.

If your trial is still active, or if you decide to subscribe for a month to give it a chance - check out Eve University, a player-run corporation which focuses on teaching new people. http://www.eve-ivy.com/oog/ivy/index.php?file=about.html

I hope you stay, it's always nice to hear about new people trying the game. Feel free to contact me in-game on "Happy San" o/Shothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10727741339839519702noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4654579473623989383.post-20449566866267479562009-05-18T04:39:00.000+02:002009-05-18T04:39:00.000+02:00A great comparison!
